About The Position

The May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in Randolph, MA, is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to become part of a multi-disciplinary team in a supportive school environment with autistic students. The focus of daily care will be working with the students and staff in our school program. This role combines the duties of a school nurse with case management responsibilities. Our May Center Schools for Autism and Developmental Disabilities offer full-day, year-round educational services to children and adolescents. Focusing on building communication, social, behavioral, vocational, and academic skills. We base our programs on applied behavior analysis, or ABA, which has been shown in hundreds of scientific studies to be the most effective method for teaching children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• 1-year minimum related work experience
• Valid driver's license
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Adept with email and word processing programs

Nice To Haves

• Previous medication teaching experience preferred
• Pediatric and/or young adult experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide health assessments/first aid for ill or injured students and staff
• Administer medications
• Provide health education to staff
• Maintain student and staff records
• Oversee health care of students attending special education school
• Travel to residential group homes, pharmacies, field trips, etc.
• On-call, weekend, and holiday rotation
• Independent nursing judgement
• Triage
