Registered Nurse Emergency Department
About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, Tennessee, delivers compassionate, high-quality nursing care supporting patient safety, comfort, and positive health outcomes. The role develops and manages individualized care plans, monitors patients’ progress, and adjusts care as needs change. The nurse communicates patient updates with physicians and the care team, coordinates care across disciplines, and supports discharge planning to help patients and families transition safely from the hospital to home or another level of care. The schedule is rotating shift, PRN.
Requirements
- Obtain Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months (180 days) of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification accepted.
- Obtain BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification accepted.
- Obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months (180 days) of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification accepted.
- Hold a Registered Nurse license from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a current home-state license recognized through a multi-state compact prior to hire or job transfer.
- Have a diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or the required professional licensure at the time of hire.

- 1 year of Emergency Department experience preferred.
