About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) uses the nursing process—including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes and planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide individualized patient care. The RN collaborates with interprofessional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care. The role includes caring for patients through preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up across the continuum of care. The RN plans and coordinates care and performs patient assessment, education, triage, and other nursing interventions. The role requires practice within the scope and standards established by the Nurse Practice Act and administrative rules in the state of practice and licensure. Sanford's professional nursing practice is based on the American Nurses Association's Scope and Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
