Registered Nurse (RN) - Orthopedic and Spine
About The Position
Fairview is seeking an upbeat, energetic Registered Nurse to join the 26-bed Adult Med-Surg/Ortho Spine unit at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minnesota. The unit provides care for a diverse patient population, including orthopedic and spine surgical patients, trauma patients, and medical-surgical patients. Nurses have the opportunity to strengthen and expand their clinical skills in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment. The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for assigned patient populations in accordance with policies, procedures, professional practice guidelines, and the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities as appropriate. This is a 0.7 FTE position, working 56 hours every two weeks on the day/evening shift. Shifts are 8 hours and include every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
Requirements
- Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- One year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care.
- Develop individualized plans based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition, and other relevant needs.
- Evaluate care and patient responses to interventions and expected outcomes.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and health team members within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care.
- Advance care by using standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
- Promote a culture of evidence-based practice.
- Coordinate care with members of the health care team and delegate responsibilities as appropriate.
