Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health Unit
About The Position
The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse provides care on a collaborative, supportive specialty nursing unit focused on patient progress, stabilization, and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff. The unit has 34 beds and is currently staffed for 21 patients, with plans to grow according to census needs. The role is full-time at 0.8 FTE (64 hours per pay period), with eight-hour day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and rotating weekends and holidays. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available to qualified applicants. UP Health System - Marquette is a 222-bed hospital in Marquette, Michigan, and part of Lifepoint Health. Requirements
- Current Michigan RN license.
- Associate degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP).
- Handle with Care-Advanced (ACLS) certification within 90 days.

- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
- Document patient care provided.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate patient and/or family learning needs and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
