This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Nursing Float Pool, working 36 hours per week on a 7p-7a schedule. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, with appropriate action taken as needed. Duties may include administering medications, treatments, and therapies safely, demonstrating effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, and fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The nurse is expected to pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications, adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics and practicing ethical decision-making. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff is expected, along with accurate and timely EHR documentation. The role may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, understanding the principles of growth and development over the life span and assessing data reflective of patient status to identify age-specific needs.
