About The Position

As an academic medical center with a rich history of providing life-saving treatment in Southern Nevada, UMC serves as the anchor hospital of the Las Vegas Medical District, offering Nevada’s highest level of care to promote successful medical outcomes for patients. We are home to Nevada's ONLY Level I Trauma Center, Designated Pediatric Trauma Center, Burn Care Center, and Transplant Center. We are a Pathway Designated facility by ANCC, and we are on our journey to Magnet status. This is a Training Under-Fill position for Registered Nurse - Centralized Resource Pool. This training underfill position will be a New Grad RN for a period not to exceed one (1) year from date of hire into the position. Satisfactory performance at the end of the training period (not to exceed one year) will lead to a non-competitive promotion to Registered Nurse. Position Summary: Provides patient care under a preceptor and/or within the limits of their competency. Will practice under the job description for the clinical area in which they successfully completed orientation.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current License by the Nevada State Board of Nursing to Practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.
  • MUST be licensed by 9/14/26.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a UMC's clinical rotation program
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA
  • BSN Graduation by 8/1/26.
