About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join a 25-bed MedSurg/Tele unit specializing in neurology. The role provides comprehensive care to patients with medical-surgical and telemetry needs, including neurological conditions such as strokes and post-neurosurgery recovery, as well as joint replacements, fractures, chronic illness complications, and postoperative care. The position is full-time, with 12-hour night shifts and 36 guaranteed hours per week. Nurses must work at least every other weekend and 2–3 holidays between Thanksgiving and New Year. Floating to other medical-surgical areas may be required based on patient needs. The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 and includes nursing aides and patient care technicians. Hourly rounding and responsiveness are emphasized, and mechanical lifts are available in every other room.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
At least 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
NIHSS certification.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage a fast-paced environment effectively.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care for neurological conditions, including strokes and post-neurosurgery recovery.
Manage care for patients with joint replacements, fractures, complications from chronic illnesses, and postoperative needs.
Monitor patient vital signs and perform assessments to guide care plans and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
Titrate IV drips and manage PCA pumps as required.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes.
Participate in unit orientation and training programs.
Respond promptly to patient needs and concerns.
Perform hourly rounding and maintain responsiveness.
Float to other medical-surgical areas when required by patient needs.
Work at least every other weekend and 2–3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year.
