About The Position

Shriners Children's St. Louis is seeking a PRN night-shift Registered Nurse for its Inpatient Unit. The RN provides direct nursing care to children with a range of orthopedic conditions, from mild to complex, including Med-Surg and ICU-level care. The role coordinates nursing care, patient and family education, and transitions of care, while supporting professional nursing practice across settings and throughout the continuum of care. The RN also provides leadership as a formal or informal leader and preceptor and contributes to quality improvement. The position works 12-hour shifts as needed.

Requirements

• BSN degree or currently in process of completing a BSN.
• Missouri RN License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of bedside RN experience; new graduates will be considered.
• Pediatric and ICU experience.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care.
• Support professional nursing practice across practice settings and the continuum of care to meet patient and family needs.
• Provide leadership as a formal or informal leader and preceptor.
• Contribute to quality improvement efforts.
• Mentor and teach, using excellent communication skills.
