About The Position

Danbury Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide professional care to a group of NICU patients during a designated time frame. The nurse uses the nursing process in collaboration with other health care team members and is accountable for the care provided. This is a full-time, 36-hour-per-week role on an evening/night schedule, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with holiday and weekend requirements. The position is based at Danbury Hospital, 24 Hospital Avenue, Danbury, Connecticut. Danbury Hospital is a 456-bed acute care hospital with a Level III NICU. Northwell Health is a not-for-profit health system serving New York and Connecticut. Requirements

Current State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license.
At least 6 months of NICU RN experience.
BLS certification.
NRP certification, or ability to obtain it within 3 months of hire.
Associate’s-level degree.
Registered Nurse credential.

Nice To Haves

PALS or ACLS certification is preferred but not required.
Nursing certification is desired.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is desired.

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing, systematic assessments focused on patients’ physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
Formulate a goal-directed plan of care, prioritized and based on nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes.
Implement care knowledgeably, skillfully, consistently, and continuously.
Prioritize patient care according to essential patient needs and available resources.
Evaluate the effectiveness of care and patients’ progress toward outcomes.
Identify patients’ and significant others’ learning needs and implement appropriate measures to address them.
Coordinate interdisciplinary functions.
Fulfill compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Perform other duties as assigned.
