The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Outpatient Surgery Center provides comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient surgical and procedural services. This role encompasses preoperative assessment and preparation, intraoperative circulating nurse duties, post-anesthesia recovery care, and discharge planning and education. The RN utilizes critical thinking, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice to coordinate safe, efficient, and patient-centered care throughout the perioperative continuum. The RN collaborates with physicians, anesthesia providers, surgical staff, patients, and families to ensure optimal patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with organizational policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. The RN serves as a patient advocate, promotes a culture of safety and quality, and demonstrates accountability for ongoing professional development and excellence in patient care.
