About The Position

In this fast-paced ambulatory surgery center, the Registered Nurse rotates between Pre-Op and PACU, caring for a wide variety of patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, with diverse procedures and acuity levels—making every day unique. This cross-trained role requires flexibility to prepare patients for surgery, recover them post-operatively, and step in to monitor patients or assist in the OR as needed. The position emphasizes adaptability, teamwork, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic surgical environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree - Nursing (Required)
  • New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire. (Required)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Registered Nurse Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a critical care setting is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing patient/family assessments and document per guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care based on patient needs and expected outcomes.
  • Provide safe, ethical, patient‑centered care while supporting dignity, diversity, and autonomy.
  • Prioritize care based on patient condition and unit needs.
  • Safely administer medications and treatments; perform technical skills per policy.
  • Recognize and respond to emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions.
  • Evaluate patient responses to care and revise plans in collaboration with the care team.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Supervise delegated tasks and ensure quality care delivery.
  • Participate in organizational activities such as committees, staff meetings, and unit initiatives.
  • Support student learning and staff development; serve in leadership roles as needed.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing education and self‑assessment.
  • Build collaborative, collegial relationships across the healthcare team.
  • Identify and act on opportunities for process improvement.
