About The Position

Scripps Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Acute unit at Scripps Green Hospital. Surgical Acute is a 34-bed unit with all-private rooms that cares for a variety of complex post-surgical patients. The care team includes registered nurses and Patient Care Assistants, with a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. The RN provides direct patient care within the scope of practice, including assessing patients, planning and implementing plans of care, and evaluating progress toward expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for patients’ care as delivered by the Care Team under the RN’s supervision and collaborates with other members of the patient care team to support optimal care. This is a benefit-eligible, full-time position of 72 hours every two weeks, working 12-hour night shifts. The position may be eligible for new-hire and relocation incentives up to $7,000, subject to eligibility and retention requirements.

Requirements

At least 1 year of RN experience.
One year of inpatient surgical experience.
Current California RN license.
Current AHA BLS certification.
Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to demonstrate positive behaviors.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
