RN - Registered Nurse - Oncology - Days
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in the Radiation Oncology Infusion Room at Bruno Cancer Center, following the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The role includes implementing and monitoring patient care plans, observing and communicating patient conditions, coordinating care among disciplines, carrying out physician and nursing orders, and collaborating with the healthcare team on discharge planning. The position is based at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham and follows a schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
Requirements
- BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer.
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing, obtained before hire or job transfer.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Professional licensure at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
