About The Position

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The PRN Registered Nurse coordinates and oversees patients’ home care and collaborates with care teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. The role includes assessing patients, providing skilled nursing care, educating families, documenting care, and communicating patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team. The position also supervises LPNs and HHAs. Compensation may include per-visit-point pay for visits and hourly pay for certain non-visit activities. The listed annual total cash target assumes full-time employment at 40 weekly hours and full productivity; actual compensation depends on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, productivity, and performance. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.

Requirements

Current RN license specific to the state or states assigned.
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
Current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of clinical experience as a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients’ home care.
Collaborate with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans.
Educate families about the patient’s condition, needs, and care.
Perform head-to-toe physical assessments.
Check vital signs and manage medications.
Give injections, provide IV therapy, or administer tube feedings.
Administer and maintain catheters.
Complete documentation accurately and on time.
Supervise LPNs and HHAs.
Regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
