The Registered Nurse provides direct, safe patient care using the nursing process and coordinates care for assigned patients during a shift to promote clinical outcomes. The role serves a variety of complex patients as part of an interdisciplinary team and involves expanding clinical knowledge and skills, seeking and offering feedback, and developing bedside leadership. New graduate RNs focus on building skills and progressing toward caring for increasingly complex patients, with consultation and mentoring from more experienced clinicians. The RN participates in professional nursing shared governance, unit councils, Nursing Quality Teams, and initiatives to improve nursing-sensitive indicators, RN satisfaction, employee engagement, safety culture, and patient experience. The position supports recruitment and retention of an excellent nursing team and may serve in unit leadership roles, including Nurse in Charge as needed. This operating room role requires an associate degree, Georgia RN licensure, completion of Peri-op 101 or equivalent and/or procedural-area experience, and one year of professional RN experience. New graduates and RNs with less than one year of experience will be referred to the RN Residency Program. The schedule is a 10-hour morning-afternoon shift, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
