About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) works in Emergency Services at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, a Level I Trauma Center in Hillcrest. The RN provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The emergency department averages 250 visits per day and has 49 beds, with designated Psychiatric and Fast Track areas. The role is full-time at 72 hours per two-week pay period, working 12-hour night shifts that include weekends. The position may be eligible for new-hire and relocation incentives of up to $7,000, subject to eligibility and retention requirements. Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego is the county’s oldest medical center, founded in 1890. The hospital provides services including 24-hour emergency care, robotic surgery, prenatal services with NICU support, and outpatient rehabilitation.
Requirements
- Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Active California RN license.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS Healthcare Provider certifications through the American Heart Association.
- At least 1 year of experience in adult emergency services.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and positive behaviors.
- Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a trauma center emergency room.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nursing) certification.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients; plan and implement plans of care; and evaluate progress toward expected outcomes.
- Take primary responsibility for patients’ care as delivered by the Care Team under the RN’s supervision.
- Collaborate with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
