About The Position

A registered nurse renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients, providing direct and indirect care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse supports the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of Methodist Health System. This position is PRN Tier 2, works nights, and serves Mother Baby. The role is at Methodist Richardson Medical Center, a 443-bed, full-service acute care hospital serving Richardson, Garland, Plano, and surrounding areas in Dallas and Collin counties.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current license to practice nursing in Texas or eligibility to obtain one.
• One year of Mother/Baby registered nurse experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to general hospital standards and promote a cooperative work environment through communication, interpersonal relationships, and team building.
• Assume responsibility for the nursing components of the patient, family, and significant other education process.
• Communicate with the team, coworkers, patients, and family members, and evaluate their understanding of information.
• Create and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, coworkers, and the facility.
• Ensure complete, accurate, and timely written communication of patient information.
• Provide a therapeutic environment through safe, accurate, and timely medication and IV administration.
• Take personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth, and development.
• Use the nursing process to ensure quality patient care throughout the episode of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
