About The Position

PurposeMed is seeking a Remote Registered Nurse (Casual) to join Freddie, the #1 rated PrEP provider in North America. This independent contractor (1099) opportunity is based in the United States and requires a commitment of 20-30 hours per week. The role involves providing high-quality, virtual sexual health care, including live patient consultations and asynchronous tasks. Freddie focuses on improving sexual health through education, prevention, and treatment, with a strong emphasis on the LGBTQ2IA+ community. The position requires a compassionate and dedicated nurse licensed in multiple states to deliver empathetic, stigma-free, and client-centered care for preventative care through PrEP and DoxyPEP, as well as treatment for those living with HIV. The role demands strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to reducing health disparities.

Requirements

• An active Registered Nurse compact state license
• 3+ years of experience in a clinical nursing role
• Clinical experience in a semi-independent practice role in medical patient care and/or sexual health
• Experience providing virtual healthcare
• Excellent communication skills and empathetic care delivery
• Experience working in HIV prevention and/or with the LGBTQ2IA+ community
• Consistent availability for asynchronous patient care tasks (reviewing results, providing education, follow-ups) and up to 20 hours weekly for scheduled shifts, including live consultations. Task volume may vary based on state licensure and patient needs

Nice To Haves

• Additional non-compact state licenses, with NV and/or OR being a strong plus
• Experience working with gender and sexually diverse communities
• Experience working in the private sector, a start-up, or a technology company
• Fluency in Spanish

Responsibilities

• Delivering inclusive, expert, virtual care through scheduled synchronous consultations through our virtual care platform
• Leading comprehensive initial assessments for those seeking preventative HIV care, including history taking, risk assessment, and psychosocial evaluations
• Providing comprehensive sexually transmitted and blood borne infection (STBBI) prevention education to clients (with a focus on HIV prevention), including risk reduction strategies and behavioural counseling
• Championing health education and empowerment, helping patients understand their treatment options, navigate stigma, and take control of their wellness
• Providing asynchronous care to ensure timely and continuous support for patients, including reviewing results, providing education, and clinical follow-ups
• Maintaining accurate, detailed patient records in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, using a wide variety of virtual tools to chart and connect with patients
• Collaborating with our team of Nurse Practitioners and support team members to support end-to-end patient care
