About The Position

ChristianaCare—Wilmington Hospital in Delaware is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Medical Observation Unit. The RN will provide direct patient care, administer medications, collaborate with healthcare team members, evaluate patient conditions, and ensure patient safety and well-being. This unit provides 24-hour inpatient and observational care for adult and geriatric patients. The conditions of patients cared for in this area can be described as fair, good, and guarded. Patients are received, admitted, and transferred from the Emergency Department, the Step-Down Unit, the Intensive Care Unit, and Direct Admissions from the community and provider offices. The scope of services in the medical unit encompasses a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to stroke, pneumonia, urinary tract infection, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart failure, cellulitis, substance use disorder, and psychiatric diagnoses. Working on a mixed-acuity unit will allow you to become ACLS certified, learn from critical and emergent patient situations, and use best practice techniques from evidence-based care. Requirements

  • RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware
  • One year of RN experience
  • BLS required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN Preferred or the commitment to obtaining a BSN within three years of the hire date
  • Acute care or sub-acute care experience is preferred
