The Registered Nurse will provide medical-surgical oncology care in an acute hospital setting. The assignment is 13 weeks, with an ASAP start and variable shifts scheduled as three 12-hour shifts. The nurse must have chemotherapy administration experience and be able to float to similar units within their scope to meet facility needs. Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend, depending on staffing needs. The clinician may be called off for one 12-hour shift per two-week period; guaranteed hours are 60 per two weeks. Candidates with a pending Alaska RN license may be considered, but must complete the Alaska RN license application process—including fingerprints, application fee, and submission—within 48 hours of signing. An Alaska RN license must be in hand for an auto offer. First-time travelers are accepted. Local candidates whose permanent address is within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted. Time off requests are reviewed individually upon offer and must be included with the submission. The facility is a 407-staffed-bed acute hospital, designated a Magnet facility and Level II trauma center. The hospital provides scrubs and free parking, and uses Epic for charting.
