About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to oncology patients in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The role is based in the 5 East - Oncology department at UAB St Vincent's East and is scheduled for 24 hours per week, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Benefits are available for eligible positions only.
Requirements
- Alabama Registered Nurse credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing, obtained before the hire or job transfer date.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing and required professional licensure at the time of hire.
- One year of RN experience.
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of the hire or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Coordinate care across disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge-planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
