Registered Nurse - Onsite Inpatient Virtual Support
About The Position
Sentara is hiring Registered Nurses for the Innovative Inpatient Care Model in the Brand-New Centralized Virtual Acute Care Department. This position is located at the Sentara Independence office in Virginia Beach, VA. The role leverages the use of technology to enhance patient care in the hospital and provide support to nurses at the bedside. Virtual RNs alleviate workload and provide greater satisfaction for patients and nursing staff by handling administrative tasks that do not require hands-on care, improving workflow and ensuring patients are informed. Virtual nurses are an additional member of the hospital care team, working with bedside nurses to ensure safe and high-quality care. Patients communicate with virtual nurses via a HIPAA compliant audio-visual device. Perform nursing duties via video call from the Virtual Care hub call center such as admissions, discharges, patient teaching, medication reconciliation, and much more.
Requirements
- RN-Associate’s Degree (Required)
- Registered Nurse License (Required)
- Compact/Multi-State (Required)
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- 5 years of recent acute care bedside nursing experience required
Nice To Haves
- BSN or MSN preferred
- NIHSS and ACLS preferred
- Epic experience preferred
- IMCU experience preferred
Responsibilities
