Requirements

Graduate of a nursing program.
Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (positions not on campus may not require BLS as determined by work area).
Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Experience working in a team environment.
Computer skills required.
Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call.
Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
Prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
Support professional nursing practice across practice settings and the continuum of care.
Function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, including planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care.
Provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal leadership, and quality improvement efforts.
Delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource adequacy.
Utilize excellent communication skills, mentor and teach, and potentially participate in committees or projects.
May be required to drive a personal vehicle as part of role responsibilities.
Successful TN sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
