About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Float Pool provides direct nursing care in a diverse healthcare environment, following the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The position is full-time on the night shift, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham. The nurse implements and monitors patient care plans, observes and communicates patient conditions, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and works with the healthcare team to assess and coordinate patients’ care needs.

Requirements

Hold an Associate Professional Registered Nurse credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing before the hire date or job transfer date.
Hold a diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing and professional licensure at the time of hire.
Have at least one year of nursing experience.
Obtain BLS Provider certification within 30 days of the hire date or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.

Nice To Haves

Two years of bedside experience preferred.

Responsibilities
