About The Position

Amedisys is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse to provide home health care. The nurse coordinates and oversees patients’ home care, collaborates with care teams on care plans, and educates families about patient conditions and care needs. The role includes conducting physical assessments, monitoring vital signs, managing medications, providing injections and treatments, maintaining catheters, documenting care, supervising LPNs and HHAs, and communicating patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team. Compensation may vary by geographic market, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Requirements

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse; candidates with less than one year must be approved by the VP of Clinical.
• Current RN license specific to the state(s) assigned.
• At least six months of home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
• Ability to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age-specific needs.
• Familiarity with general computer use and functions, including usernames and passwords, internet and email, desktop navigation, programs, files and windows, navigation buttons and toolbars, and online HR services and training programs.
• Candidates with less than six months of clinical experience as an RN must participate in the RN Intern program.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients’ home care.
• Collaborate with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate families on patient condition, needs, and care.
• Perform head-to-toe physical assessments.
• Check vital signs and manage medications.
• Give injections, provide IV therapy, or administer tube feedings.
• Administer and maintain catheters.
• Complete documentation accurately and on time.
• Supervise LPNs and HHAs.
• Regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
