About The Position

North Central Surgical Center is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) for their Post-Surgical Unit. This position is for the Day shift (3-12s). The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical and telemetry patients, ensuring high-quality, safe, and patient-focused care in alignment with the hospital's mission, vision, and goals. This role requires collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, and adherence to professional standards and regulatory guidelines. The hospital is a surgical-focused facility, opened in 2005, with 14 Operating Rooms and 30 Medical/Surgical Patient Rooms, located in Dallas, TX. It specializes in Orthopedics, Spine, General Surgery, Pain Management, Urology, GI/Endoscopy, Plastic, and Podiatry surgeries. It is managed by United Surgical Partners International and is Joint Commission Accredited.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures
  • Understanding of nursing scope of practice
  • Ability to administer medications safely

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care within the RN scope of practice, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Implement physician orders, administer and document medications safely, and provide nursing interventions as necessary, in accordance with standards of practice.
  • Perform accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record to reflect the patient’s condition and treatment and correct patient admit/discharge/transfer status.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Provide education to patients and their families about care and expectations.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, and National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude in all interactions with staff, patients, and families.
  • Utilizes email and computer systems (including EHR) to manage staff communication, coordinate patient care, document performance, and ensure patient workflow.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
