About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Texas Health HEB. The ICU is an 18-bed Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit that specializes in Trauma and Neurosurgical patient care. It is a fast-paced, high-acuity unit with 24/7 Intensivist coverage. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse will also incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiate actions to meet patient information needs, and maintain continuity of patient care.

Requirements

• Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma in Nursing required
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
• Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• ACLS – within 90 days required
• NIHSS – within 60 days of hire
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
• 1 Year of experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• Current ICU experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
