About The Position

This position provides direct clinical patient care and is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing direct care for assigned patients on a per-shift and unit-level basis. The role includes supervising staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and supporting the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in ensuring high-quality, safe, appropriate nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate resource management related to patient care. The position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice the profession as required by applicable law, regulation in the state of practice, or policy.
• AHA BLS certification.
• Intermediate Fetal and Basic Fetal qualifications.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing.
• Recent acute care experience.
• AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certification if applicable under corporate policy for the unit of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective total nursing care to patients.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care using the nursing process.
• Direct care according to established safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection-control standards, with the goal of discharging patients after providing an optimum level of care.
• Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
• Administer medications safely and in a timely manner in accordance with hospital policy.
• Fulfill Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed during emergencies or disasters.
• Know the hospital emergency codes, their purposes, and the appropriate actions for each, and follow related hospital policies and procedures.
• Supervise staff to whom appropriate care is delegated.
• Support the CNO in ensuring high-quality and safe nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate patient-care resource management.
