Registered Nurse-Pre-Post Op - Contingent
About The Position
The Registered Nurse manages patient care during a designated timeframe, coordinating and evaluating care and teaching and delegating patient activities to other healthcare team members through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and the environment. The role is in the Main OR PreOp/PACU department at Trinity Oakland (Pontiac), a 39-bay department with 22 PreOp bays and 17 PACU bays, supporting 15 operating rooms that average 35 cases per day. The department cares for inpatients and outpatients undergoing elective, urgent, and emergent procedures across Acute Care Surgery, Colorectal, General Surgery, Cardio-Thoracic, Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Gynecology, Oncology, and Vascular services, as well as off-shift Endoscopy. Department-based anesthesiologists provide support 24/7. The department is a Certified Joint Center of Excellence and a Robotic Center of Excellence.
Requirements
- Current Michigan nursing license.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Previous Pre-Op/PACU experience.
Nice To Haves
- BSN degree preferred; otherwise, the candidate must agree in writing to obtain a BSN within five years.
- Critical Care experience is strongly preferred.
