About The Position

The Outpatient Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients receiving Antipsychotic Long-Acting Injections (LAI) and Spravato (esketamine) treatment. This role involves obtaining insurance authorizations, coordinating patient care, administering treatments, monitoring patient responses, and ensuring compliance with clinic protocols and regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical expertise, attention to detail in administrative tasks, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Requirements

  • Licensed Registered Nurse
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • 1-2 Clinical Experience as a RN
  • EMR systems experience
  • Strong customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • +2 years of outpatient care experience, behavioral health, or a similar clinical setting is preferred
  • Highly Knowledge of insurance authorization processes and prior experience with medication administration

Responsibilities

  • Obtain prior authorizations and verify insurance coverage for Antipsychotic LAI and Spravato treatments.
  • Coordinate with insurance providers, patients, and other healthcare team members to ensure timely approvals for treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all insurance communications and approvals.
  • Educate patients on their insurance coverage, treatment costs, and any necessary pre-treatment requirements.
  • Administer Antipsychotic Long-Acting Injections and Spravato treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment, assessing for any adverse reactions or side effects.
  • Document patient responses, vital signs, and treatment outcomes in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medication management, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Schedule patient appointments, including initial treatments, follow-ups, and routine injections.
  • Maintain a safe and organized clinical environment, ensuring all equipment and medications are readily available and up to date.
  • Provide support to other team members as needed, contributing to overall clinic operations and patient care quality.
