About The Position
The Registered Nurse position is in the Medical-Surgical Float unit, a combined 61-bed unit. Patient populations include surgical patients (such as total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, and general surgery) and medical patients (including CHF, CVA, shortness of breath, and diabetic issues). The unit has day-shift ratios of 1:5 and night-shift ratios of 1:6. Nurses confirm telemetry strips read by monitor technicians. The unit uses CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipment. Nurses float as required and complete unit-specific orientation, including a float checklist.
Requirements
- BLS certification.
- Experience or skills matching the current medical-surgical unit expectations.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to surgical and medical patients.
- Confirm telemetry strips read by monitor technicians.
- Float as required.
- Participate in call or standby as required, with LCD.
