Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology
About The Position
Saint Luke’s North Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Interventional Radiology team. The position serves patients in a busy procedural area covering Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology. The nurse provides care and sedation for procedures including organ biopsies, acute pulmonary and arterial thrombectomies, embolectomies, drain placements, and port and dialysis catheter placements. The role offers exposure to new procedures and clinical research, supported by leading technology in an innovative environment. Responsibilities include preparing and recovering cardiac catheterization patients; working in the Interventional Radiology lab during procedures; and providing nursing care, including moderate sedation when needed, for procedures in the CVIR Holding/Recovery unit, such as TEE, cardioversions, and bronchoscopy. The nurse also provides care in other Radiology areas during invasive procedures, including CT- and ultrasound-guided biopsies, monitors MRI pacemaker studies, and starts IVs as needed for staff. The position is full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday, with participation in after-hours and holiday on-call rotations.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse credential.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Associate degree.
- The posting lists applicable experience as less than one year.

Responsibilities

- Serve as a day-to-day resource to colleagues at unit and departmental levels.
- Provide positive formal or informal leadership within the unit and hospital.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams, including Interventional Radiologists, Anesthesiology, specialty service providers, and nursing peers.
- Prepare and recover cardiac catheterization patients.
- Work in the Interventional Radiology lab during procedures.
- Provide nursing care, including moderate sedation when needed, for procedures in the CVIR Holding/Recovery unit.
- Provide nursing care during invasive procedures in other Radiology areas, including CT- and ultrasound-guided biopsies.

- Start IVs as needed for staff.
