Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Oncology
About The Position
Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for Cornell 2, a Medical Oncology unit. This is a full-time night shift position. Cornell 2 is a Medical/Surgical Unit specializing in patient conditions including oncology, urology, diabetes, kidney disease, COPD, and CHF. It offers a dynamic environment for experienced nursing professionals and new graduate nurses with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5/1:6. The unit provides comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development. The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. This role also involves adherence to standards of professional performance such as ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by specific clinical areas.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- None required experience
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
- 1 year of acute care (preferred)
- Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
