Requirements
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse in good standing required
- Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required
- BCLS certification within the last 2 years required
- Neonatal Resuscitation course required within the past 2 years
- Two (2) current years paediatric experience including paediatric physical assessment skills required
- Able to function independently in all pediatric situations
- Must have strong medical/surgical knowledge base and evidence of ability to apply those skills in paediatric environment
- Successful completion of a recognized Breastfeeding Certificate Program (within the past 2 years) required
- Previous experience with patient safety and quality initiatives required
- Proven track record working effective in a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Stellar verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to remain resilient and adapt during changing priorities and critical situations
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required

- Preference will be given to applicants who have completed APLS or PEARS within past 2 years
- Experience with Meditech an asset.

- Assessment of the paediatric patient from infancy to adolescence.
- Commitment to parent and family education and support using a family centered approach is essential.
- Demonstrates an ability to work independently with strong clinical decision making.
- Can facilitate discharge planning.
- Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
