About The Position

The Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals with wounds and skin integrity concerns. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating advanced wound care treatments while promoting optimal healing outcomes. The RN serves as a clinical expert and resource for colleagues and applies sound nursing judgment when triaging, responding to, and returning patient calls related to direct patient care.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current RN license in the state where services are provided.
  • BLS/CPR certification is required within 60 days of employment and must remain active as a condition of continued employment.
  • Minimum two years nursing experience with direct, hands-on patient care required.

Nice To Haves

  • Wound care, home health, rehabilitation, burn or critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of assessment and use of equipment such as handheld doppler, cast removal saw and negative wound pressure therapy equipment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of wounds, treatments, interventions and expected outcomes
  • Participates in new programs and treatment options as developed
  • Possesses knowledge of offloading and interventions related to wound healing
  • Verbalizes knowledge of underlying comorbidities and how they affect wound healing
  • Possesses knowledge of compression therapy and demonstrates the use of compression related to wound healing
  • Serves as a clinical resource and subject matter expert for team members, providing guidance and support to promote high-quality patient care.
  • Responds promptly to patient communications, ensuring complete and accurate information is documented and routed to the appropriate individual for follow-up.
  • Demonstrates competency in patient assessment, treatment interventions, age-specific care, growth and development considerations, and effective communication techniques appropriate to the patient population served.
  • Identifies opportunities for the development and implementation of nurse-driven protocols in collaboration with providers to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
