About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Urology Clinic team. This full-time role offers a unique blend of face-to-face collaboration and remote flexibility. After an initial 6-month in-clinic orientation, the position transitions to a work-from-home arrangement. Individuals who thrive in this role are adaptable, great communicators, detail-oriented, and possess excellent time management skills. These RNs collaborate with providers to guide patients to the appropriate level of care.

Requirements

  • Must reside within 60 miles of Dickinson, ND
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside.
  • Within first 30 days of employment, all requirements to obtain license needed for role is completed.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
  • One year of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to patient phone calls and electronic messages related to Urology concerns, questions, and follow-up care.
  • Assess patient concerns and relay appropriate information, recommendations, or instructions according to clinic protocols.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to address patient needs and coordinate care plans.
  • Answers patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing the severity of the patient's symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms.
  • Addressing inquiries via phone and MyChart messaging
  • Providing patient and family education
  • Utilizing nursing and assessment skills
  • Adhering to triage protocols
