The role of the Sub-Acute Unit Manager, RN is to perform professional supervision, guidance, and direction to staff in both clinical and personnel issues on the unit. The Sub-Acute Unit Manager is a qualified Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse responsible for the development and maintenance of nursing practice and standards consistent with the overall philosophy of the facility. The Sub-Acute Unit Manager represents the Nursing Department to other departments and coordinates the services provided by other departments. This role involves coordinating resident care in accordance with State DOH regulations, providing support to residents/families, and ensuring staff adherence to safety and infection control guidelines. It also includes assisting in establishing daily operations of resident care, performing daily rounds, assessments, developing care plans, documenting clinical observations, preparing resident assignments, and communicating with the Interdisciplinary Team.
