About The Position

Sentara CarePlex Hospital is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Intensive Care Unit. The RN Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, they lead safety and quality initiatives, focus on and simplify workflow, and contribute to the development of staff. This role aims to increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

Requirements

  • Experienced RN with 18 months nursing experience required.
  • BSN required.
  • Virginia or Compact Multi-state RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • ACLS & PALS or ENPC within one (1) year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Master degree preferred.
  • If the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required.
  • Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.
  • Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
  • Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.
  • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
