Under the direction of the Nurse Manager – Extended Hours, this role assists with the direct supervision of extended hours and per visit nurses in the Braintree and Hanover Offices, as well as assigned clerical staff. The position also provides direct patient care as necessary. The Registered Nurse Triage Nurse is responsible for scheduling, prioritizing, and assessing the effectiveness of nursing visits, considering the workload of available nursing staff. They also assist in providing direct clinical supervision to weekend and per visit nurses, including orientation, training, and identifying educational needs. The role involves receiving new patient referral information, determining billing sources, and scheduling referral visits. Communication and collaboration with the healthcare team are essential, as is serving as a triage nurse for patient, physician, and family inquiries. In situations where the nurse to patient visit ratio exceeds agency standards and no further coverage can be obtained, the nurse will provide direct patient care, updating the plan of care, editing pathways, resolving Oasis Integrity Errors, performing assessments, and completing all required documentation. The role also emphasizes professional development, embracing technological solutions, fostering a culture of safety, and acting as an educator and resource for other nurses. Advanced clinical skills are utilized and developed through ongoing education.
