About The Position
SENTARA NORTHERN VIRGINIA MEDICAL CENTER in Woodbridge, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 14-week temporary position in the Emergency Department. This is a primary position, meaning flexibility in scheduling is required, and it is not intended to be scheduled around another job. The role involves performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process and adhering to standards of practice and professional performance. The RN will utilize clinical knowledge and skills to meet the standards required by the specific clinical area. The hospital is a 183-bed not-for-profit facility that combines the resources of a major health system with personalized community care, focusing on safety and patient satisfaction. Requirements
- Registered Nurse eligible to practice in VA
- ACLS, BLS
- NIHSS
- AT LEAST 2 years of RECENT bedside acute care in the EMERGENCY DEPT as an RN REQUIRED
- EPIC user STRONGLY preferred

- Performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
- Adhering to the standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation).
- Adhering to the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health).
- Utilizing clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
