About The Position

Scripps is a leading provider of trauma care in San Diego County, delivering specialized treatment through its Level I Trauma Centers. The Conrad Prebys Emergency and Trauma Center at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla is a Level I Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma. This facility features a dedicated trauma unit supported by ICU, telemetry, and medical/surgical services. The Registered Nurse (RN) – Trauma Med/Surg role is within the 22-bed Trauma Med/Surg Unit, a fast-paced, high-acuity Model Care Unit focused on collaboration, clinical excellence, and compassionate care. The unit maintains a 4:1 or 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in accordance with California Title 22 guidelines.

Requirements

One (1) year of recent RN experience (6 months in Inpatient Setting such as Acute Care, LTAC, Acute Rehab or SNF)
California Registered Nurse License
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
One (1) year of recent RN experience in Acute Care or LTAC
Experience with stepdown Trauma patient care

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to support optimal patient outcomes.
Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans based on clinical needs.
Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless, evidence-based treatment.
