RN - Trauma Med/Surg - La Jolla
About The Position
Scripps is a leading provider of trauma care in San Diego County, delivering specialized treatment to critically injured patients through its Level I Trauma Centers. The Conrad Prebys Emergency and Trauma Center at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla is a verified Level I Trauma Center serving as a private teaching hospital for trauma medicine. The hospital has a dedicated trauma unit supported by ICU, telemetry, and medical/surgical services. The Trauma Med/Surg team at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla provides care to trauma and post-surgical medical/surgical patients. The 22-bed Trauma Med/Surg Unit is a fast-paced, high-acuity Model Care Unit that maintains a 4:1 or 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in accordance with California Title 22 guidelines.
Requirements
- One (1) year of recent RN experience (6 months in Inpatient Setting such as Acute Care, LTAC, Acute Rehab or SNF)
- California Registered Nurse License
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
- Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- One (1) year of recent RN experience in Acute Care or LTAC
- Experience with stepdown Trauma patient care
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
- Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans based on clinical needs.
- Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless, evidence-based treatment.
- Serve as the primary nurse for your patients, promoting healing while respecting each patient's dignity, autonomy, and individual goals.
