About The Position

This is a telehealth nursing position requiring proficient tele skills. The role involves providing care for patients primarily in the telemetry unit, focusing on cardiac monitoring and treatment. Nurses will support patients in the emergency department who are awaiting placement in the hospital.

Requirements

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Experience with titrating medications, including common drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone.
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam and a PASS/FAIL simulation lab on the first day of orientation.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of two years of experience in a cardiac telemetry unit is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as per physician's orders and protocols.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and cardiac rhythms, including reading and interpreting ECG strips.
• Maintain the ability to titrate cardiac drips as required.
• Assist with patient care activities such as IV starts and administering medications as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
• Float to medical-surgical and overflow units as required.
• Assist with vital signs and patient care in the emergency department while not serving as the primary RN for ED patients.
