About The Position

This is a telemetry position requiring tele skills. Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to starting. There is also a PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on the first day of orientation. Failure to pass either assessment will result in becoming a DNU (Do Not Use) for a period of 6 months. The role may include managing patients in emergency scenarios while they await a hospital bed. Candidates should expect to provide care to patients from the emergency department while supporting the overall needs of patient care within the unit.

Requirements

  • BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of strong cardiac telemetry experience is required.
  • Proficient in titrating cardiac drips per physician orders and parameters.
  • Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips.
  • Familiarity with common titratable drips, including Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone, is essential.
  • Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to starting.
  • Must pass a PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on the first day of orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret cardiac strips, as there will be no monitor tech on the unit.
  • Assist with various patient care activities, including vitals, IV starts, and medication administration.
  • Provide care to patients from the emergency department while supporting the overall needs of patient care within the unit.
