About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med/Tele unit in a rural setting. The successful candidate will work as part of a cohesive team focused on delivering high-quality care to patients in the community. The unit consists of 25 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 5-6:1. Certified Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) are present to support nursing staff and assist with patient care. The organization currently utilizes the Paragon charting system and is transitioning to EPIC by October 2026.

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 months of recent Med/Tele nursing experience.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong time management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a rural hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of diagnoses, including congestive heart failure (CHF), diabetes, pneumonia (PNA), and chronic kidney disease (CKD).
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, including the titration of Heparin drips.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators.
• Utilize electronic health record systems for patient documentation and care management.
• Participate in floating to other Med/Surg units or PCU as needed to accommodate patient care requirements.
• Read cardiac monitor strips; tele monitor technicians will also assist in patient monitoring.
