About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at Norfolk General Hospital's Surgical Unit in Norfolk, Virginia. This 42-bed unit specializes in the care of Adult Surgical Patients, including those recovering from surgeries in Urology, General Surgery, ENT, Plastic Surgery, GYN Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and Trauma Overflow. The unit also cares for patients with renal disease, diabetes, COPD, and heart failure, and is a telemetry-monitored unit. It includes 6 beds for Epilepsy monitoring and is the Living Kidney Donor Transplant Unit. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Requirements

  • RN Degree REQUIRED
  • Virginia RN License REQUIRED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire
  • All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
