About The Position

UW Medical Center-Northwest - 2B Surgical Specialties has an outstanding opportunity for a Rotating Shift (Days and Nights) Registered Nurse. This is a regular position with a 90.00% FTE, working a 3x12 shift schedule, totaling 36 hours per week. The role involves a mix of rotating day and night shifts, with availability for weekend shifts on a rotating basis. The 2B Surgical Specialties unit is a 22-bed hospital unit that provides medical-surgical care to patients recovering from various general surgeries, including appendectomies, complex bowel resections, and hernia repairs. It is a fast-paced unit with high admission-discharge-transfer (ADT) rates, offering a dynamic and fast-paced role for nurses who enjoy such environments. This position offers a great opportunity to join a close-knit inpatient unit.

Requirements

Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
BLS

Nice To Haves

Medical-surgical or post-op nursing experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Provide post-op and telemetry monitoring for patients who have received minor inpatient surgeries
Administer medications and IVs
Administer foley catheters and nasogastric tubes
Provide discharge instructions to patients and caregivers
Document care outcomes in Epic
Follow evidence-based nursing practices
