About The Position
UW Medical Center-Northwest - 2B Surgical Specialties has an outstanding opportunity for a Rotating Shift (Days and Nights) Registered Nurse. This is a 36 hours per week, 3x12 shift schedule position. This position works a mix of rotating day shifts and night shifts, with additional details provided in the interview. The nurse must be available to work weekend shifts on a rotating basis. 2B Surgical Specialties is a 22-bed hospital unit supporting a variety of general surgery patients. We provide medical-surgical care to patients recovering from appendectomies, complex bowel resections, hernia repairs, and more. Our unit is fast paced, and we are proud to hold some of the highest admission-discharge-transfer (ADT) rates in our hospital. This is a great opportunity for nurses who enjoy dynamic, fast-paced roles.
Requirements
- Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
- BLS
Nice To Haves
- Medical-surgical or post-op nursing experience is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide post-op and telemetry monitoring for patients who have received minor inpatient surgeries
- Administer medications and IVs
- Administer foley catheters and nasogastric tubes
- Provide discharge instructions to patients and caregivers
- Document care outcomes in Epic
- Follow evidence-based nursing practices
