Registered Nurse - Surgical Services | Full-Time | Days
About The Position
The Staff Pad is partnering with a leading healthcare organization in Manchester, TN, to recruit an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse for its Surgical Services team. This role involves providing exceptional nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients throughout the surgical experience. The nurse will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe and efficient surgical services, serving in various perioperative support functions such as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or post-anesthesia care nurse.
Requirements
- Active Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required or ability to obtain within the required timeframe
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Knowledge of sterile technique, infection prevention, and perioperative nursing practices
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment
Nice To Haves
- PALS certification preferred or required based on department needs
- Previous perioperative or operating room experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
- Assess, monitor, and document patient condition before, during, and after surgery
- Prepare patients, equipment, and the operating room for surgical procedures
- Serve as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or post-anesthesia care nurse as assigned
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders
- Maintain a safe, sterile, and efficient surgical environment
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Monitor patient recovery and provide education to patients and families
- Respond to changes in patient condition and surgical emergencies
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with safety, regulatory, and infection prevention standards
